| About State of Wow
State of Wow is a strategic consulting agency formed by the architects behind Purdue’s record-breaking Day of Giving. Over the past five years our experience in digital fundraising and giving days has been taken to the next level, and with our year-over-year growth, we can prove it. We use primarily digital mediums to help your development operation grow.

At Purdue, we were receiving many requests to speak at conferences and to answer questions as other universities and nonprofits embarked on planning, or growing, their respective day of giving or other digital initiatives. Our team has really enjoyed engaging in these experiences and wanted to take our expertise to the next level. In the summer of 2018, the dream became a reality and State of Wow was founded.

| Why State of Wow?
We began brainstorming on how to fittingly name the business – expecting to know, or have it just feel right, when we heard the right name or came up with the right combination of words. The local newspaper’s front page headlined Purdue’s Day of Giving with the word WOW. We were trying to find a way to include a nod to Purdue within the name while incorporating ‘wow’. While brainstorming ideas, State Street was thrown into the mix. State Street is the heartbeat of campus, the main street that connects all the roads and buildings throughout Purdue. Amy Noah, our Cofounder and Executive Advisor and Purdue’s Vice President for Development, paused, looked up and said aloud “State of Wow” and from that, it was decided.

| What makes us unique?
We are imbedded in the development and advancement function and are walking through the same processes and procedures that our clients experience daily. We recognize that not all universities are created equal; what resonates with your alumni will be different from any other university. We will not suggest strategies that are a one-size fits all; we will work to customize each plan of action for your institution.

Our team wants to draw on our record-breaking experience to deliver the best strategic and creative solutions for communication and fundraising to Universities and other nonprofit organizations, to best enable them to create and maintain an optimal and sustainable donor experience. We have first-hand experience in the largest higher-ed giving day over the past five years, as well as, many other experiences with overall digital philanthropy.

Purdue Day of Giving, started in 2014, is a 24-hour, online, social media-driven fundraising event that encourages the Purdue community to come together on one day to help grant opportunities for future Boilermakers. In its inaugural year, Purdue Day of Giving raised $7.5 million from 6,517 gifts. Over the past five years, Purdue Day of Giving has raised more than $100 million from 63,000 gifts.
