Meet the Team

AMBER TURNER

Amber has worked in the Purdue University Development Office for eight years and is serving as the assistant vice president for broad-based campaigns and strategic engagement. Her experience includes first-hand knowledge in comprehensive giving campaigns, annual giving, membership, volunteer management, and advancement services. During her time at Purdue, Turner has worked to centralize annual giving strategies and create a comprehensive, multi-channel approach to fundraising. Prior to this position, Turner was the associate director of annual giving and worked as the project manager for the 2014 and 2015 Purdue Day of Giving. She also has experience in marketing, communications, and donor relations, working within other higher education institutions, athletics, and nonprofit organizations before her time at Purdue. Turner is a 2007 graduate of Ball State University with a degree in public relations and communication studies.

KATE POTTSCHMIDT

Kate serves as the senior director of broad-based campaigns and digital engagement with the University Development Office at the Purdue for Life Foundation. Working with staff, campus units, and business partners, Pottschmidt manages and executes a comprehensive integrated marketing and communications effort designed to advance the University and Annual Giving programs and priorities. In addition to serving as the project manager for Purdue Day of Giving the past four years, she also oversees the University’s online fundraising initiatives and email service provider. Previously, Pottschmidt served as the assistant director of annual giving with a focus in educating students about giving back and engaging young alumni. She earned her M.B.A. from the Krannert School of Management and her bachelor’s degree from Purdue’s Brian Lamb School of Communication.

GREG KAPP

Greg has over forty years of experience in leading companies and not-for-profit agencies; the last twenty of which have focused on community and higher education advancement. He has front-line experience as a major gift officer and has led the Advancement Services organization for two major capital campaigns at Purdue University, which combined have raised more than $4B for the institution. Greg has also served as President and CEO of The Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette and as Executive Vice President for Grenzebach Glier and Associates, a leading philanthropic management consulting firm. Greg currently serves as a member of the North Central Health Services Grants Board and is a member of the LTHC Homeless Services Program governance committee.
